Originally I totally thought vision boards were cheesy and not for me. As it turns out, I loved putting my vision board together! I was working with a business coach at the time, who encouraged me to cut out photos from magazines that depicted what I wanted in my life. I picked out a few of my favorite magazines, including home design and Monocle. I cut out any and all pics that brought me joy, or made me say, Yes that’s what I want!
There is only one word (Traveler) but otherwise it’s all photos. The words just didn't speak to me so much. I knew I wanted my Asian female surfer at the top and center of the board. With the other photos around her, the long ocean wave could peek out between the gaps. It was perfect.
I also had some surprising discoveries. There was a lot of Asian influence --- Asian kids, Asian food, Asian restaurants -- more than I would have thought. And lots of nice design and living, beautiful country landscape, alot of water, some sailing. Sounds like a perpetual vacation! It does feel really nice to look back closely at it again now and remember the process. Now that I think of it, it’d be nice to frame it!
