So I normally talk about how can you take good care of yourself during the holidays. In all the ways:
PHYSICALLY: Getting enough sleep. Going for a long drive or flight? What will you need for your back or neck? Healthy snacks?
EMOTIONALLY: Journal daily to help cope with family stress? :-) (*raise hand* yes!) Maybe call up a girlfriend during your family visit. No one said you need to be stuck with them all week and have no contact with the outside world!
MENTALLY: Do you need to take work breaks? And catch up on some work? Not that I encourage being workaholic but sometimes it can be a needed break from family and then you feel less stressed going back to work.
SPIRITUALLY: Journal, crafting, knitting, scrapbook, sketching, anyone?? Taking time out to reflect on 2020 and what you want to create!
The last point I'd like to add is treating yourself. Being single, I am treating myself this year to a little getaway in Portland, Maine for a couple days just before visiting family for the holidays. It happened to work out really well logistically --- it's on the way, and a great price. I'm really looking forward to seeing the ocean, being spacious in my mind, physical space, and getting to luxuriate (is that a word?) in that space so I can think of what I want for the exciting next year!
